Op/An/IVA is a large clinic at Falu Hospital, the County Hospital in Dalarna. Our mission is to meet citizens' healthcare needs for traditional surgical care and specialized care such as robotic surgery, vascular and interventional surgery, and obstetrics/cesarean sections. The clinic's two operating departments consist of Central Surgery with 12 operating rooms and Day Surgery with 5 operating rooms and a recovery unit. As of February 2023, the Postoperative department is part of Central Surgery. The clinic is characterized by a strong team spirit and a good climate for change where development is a prioritized area.

Job Responsibilities

Welcome to work as an operating room assistant at Central Surgery, Falun!

Central Surgery is Falu Hospital's large surgical department for inpatient care in surgery, gynecology, and orthopedics. We have a hybrid room for advanced vascular surgical procedures and a surgical robot for robot-assisted surgeries. Operations take place around the clock, both planned and emergency surgeries for patients of all ages. The operating room assistant is included in the alarm chain for airway alerts at the hospital. With us, you will be part of our teamwork together with doctors, anesthesiologists, surgical nurses, and nursing assistants. Your tasks will include taking care of patients, materials, and technical equipment before, during, and after surgery.

We are looking for someone interested in a varied job with teamwork, a technology-intensive environment, rapid changes in pace, and a mix of planned and emergency surgical care. You will receive individual onboarding based on your experience.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• You are a nursing assistant who has completed the Health and Care program or the vocational package in health and care at adult education.

Meritorious:

• Specialist nursing assistant training in op/an/iva
• Experience in inpatient care
• From the previous Health and Care program, specializations in emergency care and medicine 2
• Diploma from Health and Care College

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Information about the job title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in healthcare and social services.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in healthcare and social services, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate of protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.

This job involves direct and regular contact with children and/or young people.
